Biography

Zakaria Derow Abdullahi is a third-year medical student at the University of Nairobi, passionate about TB awareness and access to healthcare. After being misdiagnosed for a long time, he discovered in 2021 that he was suffering from TB. When he was ultimately treated successfully, he decided to write and speak and create awareness about TB. Zakaria addresses TB challenges in Kenya through advocacy, education, and care, improving the health of vulnerable populations. Zakaria participated in workshops organised by the Respiratory Society of Kenya to develop TB strategies for young people. He also organizes TB awareness, education, and health care camps.
