Microfluidic-based molecular rapid diagnosis for tongue swab and sputum samples: A multicentre study

Our findings establish that LC-aNAATs exhibit superior sensitivity compared to sputum smear and culture. Genewise-MTBC demonstrated higher sensitivity than Xpert. Additionally, tongue swab testing with Genewise-MTBC shows promising sensitivity, suggesting that tongue swabs could be considered as a complementary or alternative sample type for TB diagnosis and even screening.
