Biography
Yerin Yu is a PhD student in Health Policy and Management at Korea University. Her research interests include tuberculosis control and health equity for vulnerable and marginalized populations. She is currently conducting a retrospective cohort study evaluating the effectiveness of a national LTBI screening and treatment program for North Korean refugees.
Key Impacts
TB incidence and impact of mass screening and treatment for latent tuberculosis infection among North Korean refugees
The LTBI screening and treatment program was associated with a reduced risk of active TB among North Korean refugees. However, its effectiveness was not evident in older adults, highlighting the need for age-sensitive approaches and sustained, targeted TB control policies for vulnerable populations.
