Biography
I'm Dr. Worarat Imsaguan, a pioneering chest physician with over 25 years of experience in managing tuberculosis (TB) in Chiang Rai, Thailand's northernmost province. This region faces challenges like poverty, stigma, and limited healthcare access, which complicate TB care. I have played a crucial role in enhancing the TB management system at my hospital and across the province. My goal is to contribute to the national effort to end TB in Thailand.
Key Impacts
Effectiveness of hospital-based active case finding using chest X-rays for early detection of asymptomatic TB in Chiangrai, Thailand
A hospital-based active case finding strategy using chest X-rays effectively detected 44% of TB cases, including 62.4% of bacteriologically confirmed cases, among asymptomatic patients in Chiangrai, Thailand. This underscores the importance of systematic ACF in high-burden settings for early TB detection and improved outcomes.
