Adequacy of recommendations for adverse event management in national and international treatment guidelines for rifampicin-susceptible TB: A systematic review

Despite their frequency and impact on treatment outcomes, international guidelines frequently lack recommendations for AE management. Treatment guideline should provide recommendations on management of adverse events, even if the evidence for doing so is of low quality. Research on prevention and management of adverse events should be a priority for improving the patient’s experience and the outcomes of tuberculosis treatment. Greater attention to ease of use of recommendations for adverse event management would help clinical staff.
