Biography

Professor Willem Hanekom, Executive director of the Africa Health Research Institute from the KwaZulu-Natal province of South Africa. Professor Hanekom has worked in TB vaccines for most of his life, including leadership and consulting positions at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, in academia and for entities such as the World Health Organization.
