Biography

Valwynne Faulkner is a Postdoctoral Fellow from Dr. Eachan Johnson's Systems Chemical Biology of Infection and Resistance Laboratory at The Francis Crick Institute. She obtained an MSc in Molecular Biology of Infectious Diseases from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, followed by a PhD in Molecular Microbiology from The Royal Veterinary College in 2021. During her postdoc she has developed a titratable dual CRISPRi/dCas9 system to selectively and simultaneously interfere with transcription of gene pairs in Mycobacterium tuberculosis to identify and define novel therapeutic targets of small molecules, towards developing therapies with reduced selective pressures.
