Biography

Dr. Urhioke Ochuko is the head of the Childhood Tuberculosis Unit at the National Tuberculosis, Leprosy and Buruli Ulcer Control Programme (NTBLCP) in Nigeria. He is public health practitioner and researcher with 17 years of expertise in Tuberculosis (TB), TB/HIV clinical care and program management. Dr. Ochuko played a pivotal role in coordinating the successful implementation of the 2023 inaugural National Child TB Week that led to detection of 4,054 children with TB in Nigeria. He was a co-principal investigator for the study to evaluate the effectiveness of new WHO Treatment Decision Algorithms for pulmonary TB in children in Nigeria.
