Biography
I am a senior research scientist in the Department of Infectious Diseases, College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Georgia, with experience in mycobacteriology, TB animal modelling, and immunology. The central theme of my current research program is to improve our understanding of Mtb- host interactions, pathology, and model those disease processes using physiologically relevant animal models with the overarching goal of developing protective vaccines and testing under coinfection conditions. A few areas of my interests are as follows
1. TB Transmission:
2. Developing vaccines against TB:
3. Coinfection models: Presently, we are working on malaria -TB coinfections.
4. TB Meningitis
