I am a public health specialist, and expert in molecular diagnostics and molecular epidemiology of infectious diseases based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. I am interested in research, diagnostics, quality assurance, and supply chain management.
The preliminary results indicate that the ONT tNGS TB assay provides a comprehensive evaluation of drug resistance compared to the currently approved SOC methods, for which phenotypic DST results are pending. Our study highlights the potential of tNGS to support accurate and timely clinical decision-making, which will ultimately improve treatment outcomes among TB patients.
