Biography

Dr Tim Baker is an Associate Professor in the Department of Global Public Health at Karolinska Institutet and a Consultant Physician in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care. He has positions and affiliations at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and Queen Mary's University Hospital in the UK, and is currently based at the Muhimbili University of Health & Allied Sciences in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Dr Baker's research focuses on evaluating and improving emergency and critical care in low-resource settings. He developed the concept of Essential Emergency and Critical Care, now a global network.
