Biography

Dr Thomas Schön is a Professor of Infectious Diseases at Linköping University, Sweden, and a senior consultant in both Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology. He leads the mycobacterial diagnostics laboratory at Linköping University Hospital. His research centres on TB and NTM from both clinical and microbiological perspectives. Professor Schön serves on the Swedish National Board for MDR TB management, is a member of the EUCAST Subcommittee on Whole Genome Sequencing and Phenotypic Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing, and formerly served as Scientific Secretary of the EUCAST Subcommittee on Anti-Mycobacterial Susceptibility Testing (EUCAST-AMST).
