Biography

Dr Tauhid Islam is a public health specialist with almost twenty years of experience in communicable diseases more specifically TB programme. Currently he is the team Lead of the People-centred services, Communities and Determinants unit at the WHO Global TB Programme in Geneva, Switzerland. The focus of his team is to lead policy guidance throughout the spectrum of strategic planning for people centered TB care and community engagement. Dr Islam has been working at WHO since 2004 in various positions and various locations. In recent years, he coordinated integrated communicable disease team in the Western Pacific Regional Office of WHO in Manila, Philippines.
