Biography
Dr Tafireyi Marukutira is a public health physician doing his post-doc with the Burnet Institute. He leads the Burnet team in Western Province of Papua New Guinea on the TB program with a clinic and community component. Tafireyi has worked in low-middle income countries in HIV, TB and his PhD focused on HIV and migration.

Interim findings from community-wide screening to treat TB disease and infection in a high prevalence MDR-TB setting in Papua New Guinea
Community-based screening and prevention in a remote setting in PNG was acceptable and feasible with high case detection yield and uptake of novel TPT. This was due to strong community engagement and quality improvement approaches that incorporated learning to overcome barriers.
