Biography

Stephanus Malherbe is a Clinical Researcher, experienced in leading clinical studies and international infectious disease research collaborations. He has a special interest in novel tuberculosis diagnostics and treatment response makers, and specifically the use of PET-CT imaging and improved image analysis tools. After completion of his medical degree in 2006, he worked in various clinical fields before shifting to research and completing his PhD in 2016. He currently leads the Biomedical Research Institute Clinical Team – part of the Division of Immunology, Stellenbosch University.
