Biography
My name is Sophie Meier, I went to Riga Stradins University in Latvia for my medical studies and just graduated in February. Throughout my studies, I developed an interest in TB and especially MDR-TB, so I started working on this project together with Dr. Kukša (Riga East Clinical University Hospital) and Prof. Lange (Research Centre Borstel).

Long-term treatment outcomes of multi-drug-resistant TB/ rifampicin-resistant TB in Latvia
Many patients classified as “treatment failure” due to treatment durations <18 months remained TB-free post-therapy. Long-term follow-up should be incorporated into MDR/RR-TB outcome definitions to reflect patient prognosis better.
