Biography

Sonali Sarkar is Professor of Preventive and Social Medicine in JIPMER, Puducherry. She is the India Chair for RePORT India consortium. She has successfully completed two RO1 grants by NIAID, NIH, USA, “Impact of pregnancy on Tuberculosis” and “Predictors of Resistance Emergence Evaluation in Persons with Multidrug Resistant-Tuberculosis on Treatment” as the site PI, and other extramural grants on TB, including a sponsored clinical trial for VPM 1002. She heads the clinical coordination centre for India TB Genomic Surveillance (InTGS). An active academician, she is involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and is a mentor for PhD candidates.
