Biography

Dr. Simon Peter Akena is a seasoned public health leader with over 17 years’ experience in health program design across Africa and the Pacific. Currently Chief of Party for the TB/HIV Global Fund Grant in Papua New Guinea, he leads national TB/HIV efforts. His expertise spans MNCH, Nutrition, WASH, TB, and HIV. Dr. Simon has held key roles with World Vision, Last Mile Health, and JSI, strengthening health systems in fragile and underserved settings.
