Key Impacts

Timing of asymptomatic and symptomatic TB recurrence diagnoses after successful completion of TB treatment in India

Recurrent-TB occurred in 9% of TB patients and was often asymptomatic at the time of diagnosis, despite microbiological testing being performed infrequently. Some participants may have had prolonged asymptomatic TB prior to testing, and earlier, more frequent testing would likely diagnose a higher proportion at an asymptomatic stage.
