Biography

Dr. Samuel Schumacher works as a Scientist at the WHO Global Programme on TB & Lung Health, focusing on the development of global policies, norms and standards for TB treatment and diagnostics. He is also actively engaged with the WHO Science Division in driving forward the implementation of World Health Assembly resolution 75.8 on ‘Strengthening clinical trials to provide high-quality evidence on health interventions and to improve research quality and coordination’. He has extensive experience in determining priorities for health technology development, carrying out large-scale evaluations of their performance, conducting evidence syntheses and supporting global policy development.
