Key Impacts

PZA resistance and treatment outcome among people with drug-resistant TB at Respiratory Referral Hospital in Indonesia in 2020-2024

The high prevalence of PZA resistance underscores the need for strengthened treatment strategies to ensure treatment adherence among DR-TB patients, particularly those with PZA resistance. The association between sex and MDR-TB suggests that gender plays a role in treatment adherence. Enhanced patient support systems and stricter follow-up protocols for MDR-TB patients may contribute to higher treatment completion rates compared to other TB diagnoses.
