Biography

Salla Atkins is a social scientist and professor of Public Health (especially Global Health) at Tampere University, Finland, and also works for Department of Global Public Health, Karolinska Institutet, Sweden. She is co-director of the WHO Collaborating centre on Health in All Policies and Social Determinants of Health. She has over 20 years of experience in tuberculosis research, and has worked with teams globally, and currently has projects in Tanzania, Kenya, India, and Finland. Her research interests are health equity, social determinants of health and social protection and she has expertise in qualitative and mixed method systematic and scoping reviews.
