Biography

S Kiran Pradeep is a medical doctor with specialization (MD) in Community Medicine. He hails from Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. He was part of a team that was engaged in India TB program commissioned national level evaluation of active case finding for TB. He was also part of a state level technical support unit that guided Tamil Nadu to implementing India's first state wide differentiated TB care initiative aimed at reducing TB deaths.

Does active case-finding detect people with TB early in programme settings? A national level study from India

This is the first nationally representative assessment of ACF in terms of early detection. Though ACF identified more marginalized people and reduced healthcare provider visits, this did not translate into early diagnosis. High burden of severe illness at diagnosis is a concern.
