Biography

Roel Bakker, PhD, is a senior consultant modelling who works for the TB Modelling Group at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and also for the KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation in The Hague, Netherlands. He has 25 years of experience in modelling infectious disease epidemics. Previously, he worked for the section Infectious Diseases at the dept of Public Health of Erasmus University Medical Centre Rotterdam and at the same time as a lecturer Computer Science at Rotterdam University where he has been teaching Statistical Learning / Machine Learning and AI. He has published over 80 peer-reviewed scientific papers.
