Biography
I am a Lebanese-Syrian PhD student at the University of Washington School of Public Health. I am a cultural translator and science communication specialist, where I lead field studies in South Africa, Europe, and the Amazon on migrant and indigenous health. In addition, I investigate and create programs to prevent occupational exposure to pathogens for healthcare workers and communities at high risk. I create education tools related to training programs focused on infectious diseases and health promotion. Acceptability of education materials for training and collection of tongue swabs for tuberculosis screening in migrant settings: A qualitative study
Illustrations and videos are acceptable to both migrants and HCWs. There is a need for TS educational materials and health promotion campaigns that HCWs can use to tailor care to migrants' needs.

Healthcare worker acceptance of tongue swabs for TB screening with migrants in Italy: A qualitative study
Relative to sputum, HCWs expressed the benefits of TS include the potential for a higher diagnostic yield and a safer tool for TB screening. They also shared the need for tailored educational resources to help mitigate barriers to TS implementation in migrant settings.
