Key Impacts

Healthcare providers’ perception of tuberculosis-related stigma: Drivers and manifestations within Nepal’s cultural contexts

TB stigma was perceived to be driven by and intersected with sociocultural factors among people with TB in Nepal, disrupting access to TB diagnosis and care. The results show that people-centered support interventions such as psychosocial counseling, peer support for people with TB and family, and gender-sensitive TB care are required to overcome TB stigma and improve timely TB diagnosis and care.
