Biography

YOU Qimin is the founder of Hangzhou Ustar Biotechnology Co., Ltd. He spent five years in the microbial molecular diagnostics department of BD Company, and later engaged in the research and development of biochips at Motorola and Unigene Laboratories. He returned to China in May 2003 and co-founded Hangzhou Ustar Biotechnology Co., Ltd. in 2005. In 2010, Ustar's patented product "Isothermal Amplification Nucleic Acid Diagnosis for Tuberculosis" was listed in the global recommendation list of the WHO. In 2014, it became the first Chinese enterprise invested and held by the Gates Foundation, receiving a three-year non-reimbursable grant totaling $11.27 million.
