Biography

Dr. Priyanka Raichur, MBBS, MPH is a study manager/Coordinator/Clinician at the Johns Hopkins Centre for Infectious Diseases (CIDI) in India, where she manages several observational and interventional research projects. She has over 13 years of experience as a clinical research coordinator. The projects that she currently manages are focused on the interactions between HIV, TB and Gestational Diabetes; exploring the predictors of emergence of drug resistance among adult MDR-TB participants and interventional trial for TB prevention among household contacts of MDR TB patients. Her research interests include Maternal and child health and TB/HIV.

Effect of gestational diabetes on interferon-gamma responses among pregnant women in India: Results of the PraGaTHi study

Contrary to our previous findings, GDM did not significantly affect IFN-γ levels during pregnancy, regardless of HIV status, although a trend for lower levels was observed. Longitudinal studies will help determine whether GDM is a risk factor for maternal TB.
