Preethi Mistri is a researcher at the Health Economics and Epidemiology Research Office, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of the Witwatersrand. She has a Master's in Public Health from the School of Public Health, University of the Witwatersrand and is working on human-centred design approaches and behavioural science interventions for engagement in care.

Navigating the road to recovery: User journeys and barriers among persons with drug-resistant TB in South Africa

Major challenges in user journeys were lack of knowledge of DR-TB and treatment requirements, adhering to cultural beliefs and stigma. Re-framing DR-TB information using behavioural insights to co-design messaging to be easy, accessible, simple and timely could improve understanding of DR-TB.
