Biography

Peter Kafwimbi Mwamlima is a self-motivated, natural team leader and result oriented professional with a wide range of experience in clinical and public health program. He has a vast experience in hands on clinical care, HIV and TB care programming all of which have been attained through working with Ministry of Health, and non-governmental organisations. Peter is currently working with Partners in Hope-Malawi where he oversees project implementation for TB Local Organisation Network 1 (TB LON1) Project with a primary goal of supporting TB prevention, care, and treatment services in health facilities and in the community.

Improving TB detection among men at community level: A case study from Malawi

The intervention effectively targeted men, demonstrating success in reaching this underserved population. Strong coordination with MOH teams was key to successful implementation. Additional measures, including availability of on-site TB diagnostic equipment, such as mobile X-ray, may further enhance timely screening and diagnosis.
