Biography

Palwasha Khan is an Associate Professor in Infectious Disease Epidemiology at LSHTM and an Honorary Consultant in HIV Medicine in Cardiff. As a field epidemiologist, her research examines population-level drivers of M. tuberculosis transmission, including drug-resistant TB (DR-TB), and the socio-biological mechanisms behind disparities in exposure, susceptibility, and disease distribution.
In addition to her field epidemiological work, she is actively engaged in research and policy related to the programmatic management of DR-TB, with a focus on optimising treatment strategies, reducing community transmission risks, and improving health system responses in high-burden settings.
