Key Impacts
Evaluating the impact of clinical contact tracing on tuberculosis case finding and preventive treatment in Lagos State, Nigeria: A pilot study
The findings from this study highlight the potential of clinical contact tracing bridging gaps in TB case finding and preventive treatment, particularly in high-burden areas like Lagos State. Scaling this approach can accelerate progress toward achieving the 2030 TB elimination targets, reducing TB morbidity and mortality in Nigeria.

Unintended gains: How childhood TB awareness campaigns boosted adult TB case finding
Although designed for children, the awareness campaign had a positive spillover effect on adult TB detection. This underscores the potential of child-focused interventions to benefit broader populations. Future TB programs should integrate family-centered and community-wide messaging to maximize impact. Leveraging such unintended outcomes can strengthen TB case finding and support Nigeria’s goal of reducing TB burden across all age groups.
