Biography

Dr. N Ruswa, a medical doctor and public health practitioner, has extensive experience managing HIV and TB. Holding master's degrees in infectious diseases and public health, he has provided clinical care in high HIV and drug-resistant TB settings. He is a clinical mentor, acting chief medical officer for Namibia's National TB and Leprosy Programme, and a member of the Group for Research in Infectious Diseases at the University of Namibia. His research focuses on subclinical/asymptomatic TB, diagnostics, infection, drug resistance, and prevention.

Preventing TB and deaths among children living with HIV: The efficacy of TPT among children in a programmatic setting

In tthis national cohort of children with HIV, TPT proved to be highly effective across all age-groups in protecting against TB (47% reduction) and death (73% reduction). These results are consistent with those observed in adults and reinforce the continued recommendations and implementation of TPT for all CLHIV
