Biography

Nora Engel is associate professor of Global Health at Athena Insititue, VU Amsterdam. Nora researches how new technologies and interventions for TB are
being envisioned, developed, implemented and evaluated and uses Science and Technology Studies to make sense of these innovation dynamics
theoretically. She has done extensive qualitative fieldwork in India and South Africa as well as in the global health policy arena, on innovation in TB control
and policy, challenges to point of care testing, evaluation of mobile health solutions and innovation processes of point-of-care diagnostics for TB and HIV. In
2021, Nora co-founded the SSHIFTB Centre.
