Biography

Nelson is a disciplined, self-motivated public health professional passionate about strengthening systems through operational research. He coordinates community TB diagnostics using mobile clinics under the NTLP. Modi led impactful studies, including a survey on use of private motorbike riders to enhance sample transport, which he presented at UNION 2024 in Bali. Co-authored a publication on TB referral networks and public-private partnerships. As a certified IATA shipper and SANAS internal auditor, he specialises in sample packaging and transport. Contributed to a phase 3 HIV vaccine clinical trial with MUWRP from 2006 to 2009 and serves on Uganda’s National PMDT Panel.
