Rifampicin-resistant TB in pregnant and breastfeeding women: A review of national guidelines across high-burden countries

While high-burden RR-TB countries provide some guidance on TB management in pregnancy, there is substantial variability and inconsistency in recommendations. The limited inclusion of newer treatment regimens and inconsistencies in monitoring and breastfeeding guidance highlight an urgent need for more robust, standardized recommendations to ensure optimal care for PLW with RR-TB. Future research should prioritize the inclusion of PLW in clinical trials to generate evidence-based treatment guidelines.
