Vaping and pregnancy in the last decade: Mapping scientific progress, research gaps, and evolving themes (2014–2025)
This analysis emphasizes escalating scholarly concern regarding impact of vaping during pregnancy. The predominance of research originating from high-income countries highlights a lack of representation from developing countries, limiting generalizability of findings. Thematic analysis indicates a shift from broad safety concerns to pregnancy-specific investigations; however, disciplinary silos, especially between toxicological and clinical research, hinders understanding of vaping’s effects on pregnancy. Addressing these limitations through interdisciplinary collaboration, geographically diverse research is essential to inform evidence-based public health policies.
