What’s special about quality of life in TB: A qualitative appraisal of generic frameworks

WHO facets and biographical disruption are an appropriate but insufficient basis for a TB-QoL framework. Stigma, motivation, and family implications must be addressed to ensure QoL-enhancing interventions are meaningful for people experiencing TB.

Familiarity and trust in healthcare may enable HHCs to access timely TB screening and testing services. However, previous exposure or familiarity with TB care may counterintuitively hinder uptake. Point-of-care testing, universal testing of all HHCs, and counselling on TB reinfection, risk, prevention, and recovery may enhance HCI outcomes.
