Biography

Vladyslav has over 8 years of working experience as a phthisiatrician. He was a Head of departments for the treatment of both drug-resistant and drug-sensitive tuberculosis (TB). Currently, he's engaged in TB response as a program manager for projects on combating stigma and discrimination against people with TB, protecting their rights, and expanding access to TB treatment. He was the program lead for both TB stigma assessment studies in Ukraine in 2020–2021 and 2023–2024. Since 2018, he has worked as an expert for the Ministry of Health of Ukraine on the procurement of anti-TB medicines and diagnostic supplies.

The change in the level of TB stigma in Ukraine during 2020-2024

It is necessary to conduct educational campaigns to raise awareness about tuberculosis, based on respecting the rights of PWTB and ensuring access to medical services. To protect the rights of PWTB, it is necessary to continue improving the legal environment. Social and professional reintegration of PWTB must be ensured.
