Biography

As Executive Director of Blossom Trust, a grassroots NGO in India, I bring over 30 years of experience in community development, with a focus on empowering women as agents of change. Blossom Trust works across Health, Social Welfare, Economic Empowerment, and Agriculture. I have mobilised over 20,000 women into Self-Help Groups and Patient Networks, creating lasting impact. I serve on national and international boards advocating for communities affected by TB, HIV, and COVID-19. My ongoing commitment is to promote inclusive, gender-sensitive, and community-driven strategies that address health disparities, reduce stigma, and improve access to care especially for women and girls.

EduClowns for TB awareness: Creative community engagement for early detection and behavioural change in Tamil Nadu, India

EduClowns is a scalable, culturally relevant strategy for TB advocacy, demonstrating how civil society can strengthen health systems and reduce health disparities in diverse communities. The model holds significant potential for adaptation to broader health interventions. Future implementation of the model can lead to increased TB awareness, early detection, and stronger referral pathways, improving overall TB care in target communities.
