Biography

I am an assistant researcher mainly working on Tuberculosis (TB) Immunology and recently I completed my MSC. My research focused on the Impact of Maternal Helminth Infection and MTB Exposure on Maternal and Neonatal Immune Profiles (IgG, IgE). My career goal is to contribute scientific evidence in the identification of key Immune correlates of protection against TB infection. And further, contribute important information for the development of a vaccine against TB. I am also interested in involving the scientific and local communities to create awareness and health education about TB which is the main component in the fight against TB.

Impact of maternal helminth infection and MTB exposure on neonatal IgE, maternal and neonatal IgG immune profiles

Maternal helminth infection and MTB exposure significantly influence maternal and neonatal immune profiles. Helminth infection was linked to increased neonatal IgE, while maternal QFT positivity correlates with higher neonatal MTB-specific IgG. These findings highlight the complex interplay between maternal infections and neonatal immunity, emphasizing the need for further research to explore underlying mechanisms and their implications for susceptibility to infection and immune development
