Biography

Dr. Castro has been involved in primary health care for over 30 years: engaging communities, conducting population-based research, and translating evidence to policy. Her work includes training health workers on disease prevention, proper nutrition for pregnant and breastfeeding women, their infants and young children. Her focus shifted to addressing different forms of malnutrition in the Philippines in the last 13 years, including assessing and addressing undernutrition as a comorbidity for tuberculosis in the Philippines, a high burden TB country. She is a co-Investigator of Radiant-Moms.
