Biography

Dr Gler is an adult infectious disease specialist from the Philippines. She has been a leader in treatment and research on tuberculosis (TB) and multidrug resistant-tuberculosis (MDR-TB), which has expanded over the last decade to include HIV/AIDS treatment as the epidemic has grown in the Philippines. She has had several long-standing collaborations with investigators from Boston University, Emory University and Gates MRI in conducting observational cohort studies, clinical trials, and mentorship to improve treatment for MDR-TB. She was the lead author of the landmark trial of delamanid for treatment of adults with MDR-TB, published in NEJM.
