Biography

An Infectious Disease specialist by training; started TB work in the Philippines in 1999; helped set up the first globally approved DOTS-Plus public-private clinic in an NGO; a former regional Green Light Committee Chair, WPR, and Technical Officer in WHO-WPR and Senior Technical Staff in KNCV (Netherlands). Currently, I am a member of WHO’s TB Strategic and Advisory Group (STAG), a consultant of TB Alliance, KNCV, and Tropical Disease Foundation, assisting countries with high TB/MDR-TB burden countries to transition to programmatic use of more patient-friendly regimens in close collaboration with NTPs.
