Biography

Maggie Emudluk Sr., from Kangiqsualujjuaq, Nunavik, has over 30 years of leadership experience. Locally, she served as Center Director for the school, municipal councillor, and Mayor. Regionally, Maggie was Chairperson of the Kativik Regional Government (2005–2015) and co-led the Parnasimautik consultations bringing together Inuit across Nunavik to advocate their vision for development. A recipient of the Governor General’s Commemorative Medal, she continues to serve on the KRG Executive Committee and advocates for Inuit-led economic development and community services. She is providing guidance and expertise as an Elder in shaping the Nunavimmiut Declaration on TB in Nunavik.
