Database linkage increased the sensitivity of TB-HIV co-infection surveillance by identifying additional PLWHA not registered in the TB national system. This integration improved the estimation of unfavorable outcomes and revealed trends not visible in isolated datasets. In contexts where health information systems remain fragmented, adopting routine data linkage is crucial to strengthen epidemiological surveillance by identifying patterns, trends, and gaps that might otherwise go unnoticed and guide more effective, targeted public health interventions.
