Biography


Lilungwe Mutti is a medical doctor with over 5 years of experience in project implementation and infectious disease programming. Her focus has been technical assistance on implementation of effective strategies and strengthening systems in public health facilities to ensure disease control. Her area of work has been to evaluate and translate health programs into viable strategies in resource limited settings. She has a passion for childhood TB case finding and serves as a member of the childhood TB and TPT TWG. Her future career interests include implementation science research and TB and lung health epidemiology.

TPT refusal rates and barriers among people who are HIV-negative TB contacts aged 5 years and above

TPT refusal among ≥ 5 contacts was generally low and driven by modifiable factors. Social influences played a role in reduced uptake. Strengthening health education and community engagement is essential to improve TPT acceptance among eligible contacts.
