Biography

Dr Minja is a Senior Research Officer and Heads Research Programme at the NIMR- Mbeya Centre. She holds a degree in medicine from the University of Dar es Salaam (Muhimbili College of Health Sciences – 2006) and a Master's in Internal Medicine from the Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences – 2013). She is a PhD candidate at the University of Basel.

We highlight the crucial role of peer-led approaches in enhancing TB-ACF among PWUD. Peer acceptance as service providers highlights the potential of community-driven interventions. Future research should explore the feasibility of providing peer-supported TB diagnosis and treatment services at friendly drop-in centers.
