Biography
Lilian Njagi (MBChB, MSc, PhD) is a physician-scientist at the Kenya Medical Research Institute, Center for Respiratory Disease Research. She is interested in basic and translational Tropical and Infectious Disease research, particularly Tuberculosis and HIV co-infection, with the ultimate aim of developing targeted interventions for TB prevention and care in people with and without HIV.
Key Impacts
Urine biomarker assessment of adherence to TB treatment in children enrolled in a prospective cohort study in a high-burden setting
Biomarker-confirmed adherence was modest (63.3%) and differed substantially from caregiver-reported adherence (87.2%). Additional efforts are needed to support adherence, especially among children whose caregivers report missed doses.
