Biography
A skilled TB specialist, Dr. Lawrence Oyewusi has held several positions in the TB field in Lesotho. He holds a master's degree in business administration and public health. His knowledge spans all domains, including genome sequencing, MDRTB management, diagnosis, and TB care and prevention. He presently serves as the National TB Advisor for the National TB and Leprosy Program at the Lesotho Ministry of Health.

The use of CXR with AI can increase efficiency in finding more people with TB when used correctly as a screening tool rather than diagnostic, especially in ex-miners with a previous history of lung damage or silicosis. GeneXpert remains the initial test for TB disease; over-reliance on the use of CXR + CAD alone in ex-miners can lead to unnecessary TB treatment.
